Salmon Farm Protest Group Closes - March 1st
Bruce Sandison, who has written several stories here in Tales of the Loch, posted this message to all recipients of the Salmon Farm Monitor:
"This is to inform you that the SFPG has today lodged a request with Companies House, Edinburgh for 'striking off' and, as such, will, with immediate effect, close.
As I approach my 70th birthday I have decided that, during whatever years might remain to me, I should spend more time fishing and writing about things other than salmon farming.
I would like to thank everyone for the support that they have given the SFPG over the years. It has been very much appreciated and I honestly believe that we have raised public awareness about the issues involved in the business of salmon farming - in our first year, 2002, our website received 20,000 hits. In 2006 it received 400,000.
I hope you will understand my reasons for taking this decision and thank you all again.
With best wishes from Hysbackie
Yours sincerely
Bruce Sandison
Chairman"
"The very best for a wonderful future of writing, fishing and time with family and friends. Also, thanks for your part in helping to preserve the future of wild salmon stocks for this and future generations. Good luck to you Bruce!" - Raif Killips (Editor)
