Wild Trout Trust - Annual Get Together 2007
2007 is the WTT's 10th anniversary and to mark the occasion, this year's event will be held at Langford Lakes nature reserve, near Salisbury, close to where the first AGM took place. It will be held over the weekend of 21 and 22 April and is open to members, non-members, clubs, riparian owners and anyone interested in our conservation work.
Langford Lakes will be the venue for Saturday with a variety of speakers in the morning including;
- WTT Director Simon Johnson on how the WTT can help fishing clubs, syndicates, and riparian owners start and fund their own conservation projects.
- Founding member Richard Slocock takes a look back at last ten years of WTT.
- Peter Hayes on managing rivers for fly life.
- Wild Trout Fishing Talk (tbc)
We are also hoping to have a few trade stands present.
After a buffet lunch there will be an accompanied river walk to learn first hand about the extensive programme of restoration works Wiltshire Wildlife Trust have undertaken on the Wylye including a chance to undertake some streamside entomology. We are hoping to arrange a rod testing area at which guests will be able to test a variety of rods from our sponsors including all the latest models from Sage, Orvis, Hardy and Greys and Scott.
Members and non-members are welcome to attend and tickets for the Saturday are free, but we would appreciate a donation towards lunch on the day (£5).
Please contact the WTT office by 13 April to book a place on 02392 570985 or office@wildtrout.org
In the evening, there is an opportunity to attend a Champagne Reception & Dinner to raise funds for the Wild Trout Trust, kindly hosted by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. Guest speaker, Charles Rangeley-Wilson, will be recounting his exploits as the BBC's Accidental Angler.
To finish the night there will be a auction of various lots including days' fishing, cases of wine and various other quality items! Included in the price of dinner will be a days early season chalksteam fishing from various beats in Hamphire, Wiltshire and Dorset. Price of dinner (inc glass of champagne on arrival and a half bottle of wine during dinner) and fishing the next day is fifty pounds.
Again please contact the office for tickets by 13 April.

If you would like to attend, but reaching the venue presents a problem, or if you are attending and could offer a ride to someone, you might post a message to that effect in the Wild Trout Trust section of FFR's Conservation Forum - Raif Killips (Editor)"
