New CPS, Wayfarer and Crosswater Waders from Redington

Three pairs of Redington Waders

Redington recently released new waders to compliment their equipment ranges, CPS, Wayfarer, and Crosswater. Their release is so recent, you may have trouble tracking them down. So in the mean time, the question is, Are they worth it?

All of Redington's new range are actually designed and tested men's waders, though they fit women as well as any universal fit product. The company is in the process of developing a range specifically for women, but they wont be available until 2007. Thirty professional guides in Alaska were enlisted to help develop and test these new waders. Only when the guides were satisfied did Redington offer the waders for retail. Bearing in mind how demanding guides are of their equipment, and accidents aside, you can be sure the waders will stand the test of time. In the words of the guides ",they're tough and they fit real well!"

All three models come in a good range of sizes, from S to XXL with several fits between. They accommodate most shaped bodies. Both the Wayfarer and CPS models have left and right shaped neoprene feet for an especially good fit. They also come with wading belt and loops. The lower legs of these models are reinforced and have built in gravel guards. The Wayfarer and CPS models are the choice for the frequent angler. The CPS model uses high density 5 layer PU Taslan for extra reinforcement of the lower legs (the Wayfarer has 4 Layer Taslan), and has articulated knees for best comfort. The Crosswater waders while of a lower spec., having no wading belt or leg reinforcement, are suitable for the more occasional angler.

All the waders have side adjusted draw string tops and flip-out front gear pocket. The CPS model has a fleece lined hand warmer pocket for cold weather comfort.

Redington are competing in a crowded market place in a field where technology continues to march on. That means today, on the whole, you get a lot for your 'hard earned' and Redington are definitely with the program! These are good quality waders. With price points $99 , $149, and $199, they represent pretty good value for money.

Remember, these waders are new. Consequently they aren't widely available yet, so you'll need to check out Redington to find your nearest stockist. Outside of the US Redington's new waders are in the hands of their distributors, so keep your eye on companies like Guide Flyfishing Ltd for availability.
