Tom C. Saville
David Griffiths trained and qualified as a stained glass artist at School of Architectural Glass, Swansea, UK, 1991. He was recruited early by Canterbury Cathedral for his ability as a draughtsman and painter, and for his skill as a craftsman. He still works as a member of a team dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of Canterbury Cathedral, and the provision of design and instalation services to churches and other public buildings around Britain.
Before, during, and since his days of training, David has been inspired by wildlife and other forms in nature. Always drawing and painting, he now invests years of observation and experience in his creative and technical process. His commissioned work currently adorns both public buildings and private dwellings around the UK.
The beauty of David's work results from the successful entwining of a classical drawing & painting style, with design and construction techniques employed by both contemporary and medieval ecclessiastical craftsman. Just like oil paintings each of David's works are unique pieces or art steeped in ancient creative traditions.
